Interior and Peshmerga committees meet with Iraqi Ministry of Defence officials

A delegation from the Iraqi Federal Government’s Ministry of National Defence on 9 May 2023 visited the Kurdistan Parliament and met with the Interior and the Peshmerga committees.

Interior and Security Committee Chair Shakhawan Rauf Beg (Change) and Peshmerga Committee Chair Reving Hirori (KDP) briefed the ministry officials on their legislation and government scrutiny priorities, and said they hope that such meetings will continue so that they can share knowledge and experience.

The Iraqi Ministry of Defence delegation introduced the National Defense College, who were visiting the Kurdistan Region for research and academic purposes.

The delegation included Marine Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ahmed Omran Abd, Dean of the National Defense College; Lieutenant Colonel Ali Handol Mazkhour, Head of the Faculty; lecturer Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ghalib Mohammad; officers and senior officials of the Ministry of National Defence and of other ministries and Iraqi institutions, and Masters students of the college.
