Parliament renews mandate of Kurdistan High Election and Referendum Commission with 58 votes

On Monday 22nd May 2023, presided by the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewaz Faiq, and with the attendance of the Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami and Parliament Secretary Muna Kahevi, the fourth ordinary sitting of the spring season of the fifth year of the fifth term of Parliament was held.

First, Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq opened the sitting in the name of God and the people of Kurdistan, and decided to adjourn the sitting to another time.

Then Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami presided over the sitting by holding a vote on continuing the sitting and a vote to change the order of the items on the sitting agenda. Thus according to the first item on the agenda, Dr. Hawrami put to vote the renewal of the mandate of the Council of election Commissioners, which was passed with 58 votes, and also put to vote the approval of the membership of candidates Mr. Ali Salih Mahmoud and Mr. Kamran Nashat Bakr to the Council of election Commissioners, which was passed with 58 votes. Thereafter he ended the sitting.
