Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq and EU Ambassador to Iraq Villa Varjola discuss next Kurdistan Parliament elections

Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 16 May 2023 welcomed the European Union's Ambassador to Iraq Villa Varjola. Their discussion focused on the next Kurdistan Parliament elections.

The Speaker said, "The Kurdistan Parliament has stepped up efforts to make progress and reach a final agreement between the political parties."

The Speaker added, "The legislative procedures for renewing the mandate of the election commission have been completed, and we're waiting for the parties to come to an agreement soon on amending the Election Law."

Speaker Faiq and Ambassador Varjola agreed on the need to speed up preparations and reach a conclusion on all the issues that have obstructed the election process.
