Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq welcomes Kurdistan Women's Coalition

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 2 May 2023 welcomed the Kurdistan Women's Coalition.

They discussed recent developments and the next Kurdistan Parliament elections.

The Kurdistan Women's Coalition submitted a letter to Speaker Faiq calling for each political entity in Kurdistan to have its own list of candidates for Iraqi Kurdistan in such a way that the ratio for women is increased.

Speaker Faiq responded by saying, “The Kurdistan Parliament supports any proposal that protects women's rights and the women’s cause.”

The Speaker asked Parliament’s Women’s Rights Committee chair Lanja Dizayee (KDP), who participated in the meeting, to follow up on the Coalition’s request.
